IT Security Manager

Brief Description: Manage the IT Security function in the banking environment.

Key Performance Areas:

  • To define and implement IT Security strategy for the bank;
  • To design effective security architecture;
  • To establish a framework for the implementation of an Information Security Management System (ISMS) that reflects the bank’s security needs and objectives;
  • To develop IT security policies, processes and procedures;
  • To design and coordinate the processes for the detection, investigation and correction of IT security breaches and incidents;
  • To ensure awareness within the Bank regarding IT governance requirements;
  • To ensure compliance to regulatory requirements and industry standards;
  • To assess and implement the controls needed to protect the bank’s information as well as information from third parties;
  • To plan and participate in IT Continuity and Disaster Recovery process;
  • To conduct continuous market research on trends and best practice relating to IT Security;
  • To perform periodic reporting to key stakeholders regarding the bank’s IT Security;
  • To ensure overall accountability IT Security monitoring tools & technologies;
  • To provide IT security advisory services to the different BU’s within the bank;
  • To manage human resources.

Qualifications, Experience, Knowledge, Skills and Competencies:

  • 3-year relevant IT related Degree /Diploma is essential.
  • At least 5 years specialist IT Security experience is essential.
  • CISSP certification essential
  • At least 2 years’ experience a Banking environment is beneficial.
  • CISM/CISA/CRISC certification beneficial.
  • Understanding ISO 27000 standards.
  • Understanding of SDLC and Project Management principles.
  • Understanding of Banking products and applicable regulations;
  • Understanding of strategy development processes;
  • Analytical skills.

  • Planning and organising skills
  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • People management skills.
  • Time management.
